Privacy notice

This is a static website. It sets no cookies of its own and asks for no personal information, and we run no advertising or tracking scripts on it. The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., a United States company, which processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to serve the pages, defend the site against abuse and report on its performance. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie when it needs to check that a visitor is not an automated program, and that cookie is used for nothing else. Cloudflare acts as our processor and keeps this data for no longer than its published privacy policy allows. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless service that gives us aggregate counts of visits and pages and does not identify individual visitors, build profiles or follow you to other sites. We also use Sentry, an error-monitoring service provided by Functional Software, Inc., a United States company whose data for this site is held in the European Union and which acts as our processor: if a fault occurs in your browser, Sentry records the technical details of the error, the page it happened on and your browser type so that we can find and fix it. We have configured it to set no cookies and not to store your IP address, although Sentry derives an approximate location from that address, no more precise than the town you are in. It keeps each report for no longer than 90 days, and its backups of that data for no longer than 90 days after they are made. Our lawful basis for all of this is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and in understanding how it is used. Where this site links to another organisation's website, that organisation's own privacy notice applies once you follow the link.

If you email us, we hold your name, email address and the contents of your message, with any documents you send, for as long as we need them in order to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. Our email is hosted by Proton AG in Switzerland, a country the United Kingdom recognises as providing adequate protection for personal data. If you contact us about an investment, we may keep information about you and your company for as long as we are considering the investment. When we consider an investment we may also collect information about the founders and the company from public sources, such as company registers and the press, and from people you name as references. If we invest, we keep the information for the life of the investment and for the period the law requires afterwards. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in considering and managing investments and in responding to the people who write to us. Where a contract is in prospect, we also rely on the steps needed to enter into it, and where a law requires us to keep or disclose records, on compliance with that law.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it with the service providers named above, with our professional advisers when we need their advice, with the company concerned and the investors who invest alongside us when we consider or make an investment, and with regulators, courts or law enforcement where the law requires. Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, we rely on the United Kingdom's adequacy regulations or on the standard data protection clauses approved for use in the United Kingdom, and we can provide a copy of those clauses on request.

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Where we rely on our legitimate interests, you have the right to object to our use of your personal data at any time, and we will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue. To exercise any of these rights, email info@fiftysixcapital.com. We will answer within one month, or tell you within that month if a complex request will take longer. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to us at the same address and we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
