The group

Falks Metall opened in Gnosjö, a small town in Småland, in 1946. We are still machining there today, in a 7,500-square-metre works with more than 40 CNC lathes and mills, many of them tended by robots. A second site in China handles purchasing and assembly.

Our customers build cars, spacecraft, medical equipment, ships and energy systems. We turn, mill, finish, assemble and pack their components. Where a part is better formed than cut, we press, sinter, cast or mould it close to its final shape, which saves both material and machining time. Parts are measured, and batches are documented and traceable, because those industries require it.

Metal led to lifts. Our lift portfolio brings together makers of home and platform lifts, installers and component manufacturers in Europe and Asia, with factories in Sweden, Italy, Türkiye, India and China. Aritco, outside Stockholm, is the world's leading maker of home lifts, and designs and builds its lifts in a 16,000-square-metre factory there. Gartec, founded in 1994, is the United Kingdom's largest supplier and installer of platform lifts, and takes projects from compliance and design through installation and aftercare.

Altogether, our lift portfolio employs more than 1,300 colleagues and turns over more than SEK 3.4 billion (2025). Our lifts are sold in more than 60 countries, through more than 170 distributors and more than 100 partner showrooms. Over the past decade, we have installed more than 200,000 commercial access and home lifts in buildings around the world.

A lift business is a logistics business, and we run it as one. The control electronics, control panels and emergency communication systems are made by companies within the group, in Italy and Türkiye, rather than bought in. Production keeps moving when supply chains do not, and the cost of every lift stays under our own control. A factory in Gujarat serves India and the region around it. A hub in Bangkok trains installers and holds parts for South-East Asia, so a distributor in Malaysia or Vietnam is served from there rather than from Sweden. Our lifts are designed as modular kits that fit a standard shipping container and pass through a standard doorway, so a partner anywhere can take delivery and install one.

The metal works and the lift portfolio belong to our family's holding company in Stockholm.

Gnosjö gave Sweden a phrase, the Gnosjö spirit: start with what you have, work hard, cooperate with your neighbours and waste nothing. We have run our companies that way since 1946, close to the customer and the shop floor. That is the working culture Fifty-Six Capital comes from, and the one it looks for in founders.
